New "Lara Croft" is Isometric, Arcade-Style Game
by Brian Leahy, Mar 05, 2010 3:50pm PSTAnnounced yesterday, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light by Crystal Dynamics was curiously missing "Tomb Raider" from the title. Now, we may know why. GameSpot UK got a first look at the game and it's an isometric, arcade-style action game.
From the preview:
Though the genre is something out of left field, this latest Lara Croft adventure looks to maintain much of the feeling of earlier games (tombs, booby-trap puzzles, and so on) with a framework designed around cooperative adventuring.
The entire game will apparently be played from the isometric view with a focus on high-scores and replayability. We expect to see more of the title at GDC 2010, which myself and Garnett Lee will be attending. Crystal Dynamics is also working on a second title, which could be a "Tomb Raider" game in the familiar sense.

Just to clarify, Crystal are working on two new projects right now, this little baby isn't the next Tomb Raider, but something fresh and different :)
