Leisure Suit Larry Creator's 'Sam Suede' Resurrected

2
Once billed as Leisure Suit Larry creator Al Lowe's return to the games industry before being placed on hold, iBase Games' "action comedy" Sam Suede: Undercover Expose has re-entered development at Fallen Earth co-developer Icarus with Apogee's aid.

The game is now named 'Sam Suede in Undercover Expose' and being built upon the xScape engine used in Icarus Studios' post-apocalyptic shooter MMORPG Fallen Earth.

iBase Games parent company iBase Entertainment put Sam Suede on hold, closed the studio's doors and laid off the development team in January 2007 after reporting trouble with "acquiring additional funding and establishing an international publishing partner."

There's no mention of if Lowe--who said "hopefully iBase will revive it at some future date" after the game was shelved "but, for now, I am once again retired"--is still onboard but his fellow co-creator and iBase co-founder Ken Wegrzyn is executive producer.

Apogee Software, LLC--not be to be confused with Duke Nukem developer Apogee Software, Ltd, though the two are related--is publishing and seemingly producing. Neither release date nor platforms were named, though it was originally headed to PC.
