Evening Reading: Infinity Ward News Blowout 2010!

by Brian Leahy, Mar 02, 2010 5:00pm PST

Just kidding. We've already covered the spit out of the Activision and Infinity Ward situation. I don't want to talk about it anymore.

Instead, you should all read Alice's great story on video game marketing and the info-dump for the Portal ARG discovered yesterday.

This OK Go video is delightfully nerdy if you like giant Rube Goldberg machines (you should).

If you're suiting up for some Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer tonight, watch this video (warning: audio NSFW) for tips on how to not be a noob. It's especially helpful if you're coming from Modern Warfare 2 or don't have much experience with Battlfield games. Basically, I want as few people playing this game like that other shooter.

Game of the Evening:

Shadowrun (Sega Genesis): "To this day the only Shadowrun game that bothered to stay true to the source material. >:( NERD RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE" (Rauol Duke)

  • My wife and I are toying with moving a fair distance. Right now we currently live in Baltimore Maryland and we are thinking about moving around Fort Worth Texas. The logistics seem really difficult, especially since we have 4 kids. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this without a long term major disruption.

The biggest issue seems to be "stuff." All the crap we owned. I think selling / getting rid of almost everything except the basics till the move would be best. It would make it easier to fix up our current house to sell and it would make moving that much more easier. When we get there, we find a house and buy new furniture. To me this makes the most sense considering I'll have to come out to Texas first to find a job.

She want to only get rid of "junk" and put everything in storage and then after we find a place, come back to baltimore and move our stuff from storage to the new house. Beside having to move twice and extra trips between Texas and Maryland, it seems like a lot of effort that won't save us money. This also seems to put our kids in limbo more.

Also if I can't find a job in Texas, we probably want to move anyways, even if we are just staying in Maryland.

Anyone done this and can you offer any advice on how not to go completely crazy?
