5This new trailer for the Nintendo / Team NINJA collaboration Metroid: Other M gives Samus a voice. Using this voice, she declares that she was "young and naive."
While the trailer is light on action, it is heavy on mood. I'm looking forward to more media from this title. Metroid: Other M will be released on June 27, 2010, which was recently confirmed at a Nintendo media summit.

I hope "team ninja" makes a game that doesnt completely liquidate nintendo's hardcore fanbase.. but that doesnt matter because there will be new versions of Wii shuffleboard until the end of the world.

The Metroid series itself since day one has been a great action game despite minimal story telling. However unlike many of Nintendo's other "first party games" which I use kind of loosely now since they hand them off to other houses, Metroid has always been one of the very few that seemed appropriate for in-depth lore.
Unfortunately I think Nintendo has been so focused on "everybody" that they may not know how to focus on a specific demographic without falling back and catering a game to "everybody".
TLDR: Metroid is Nintendo's Halo but they don't know how to handle it.

I hate how much story they are putting into metroid, it's all so cliche.
