Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been officially released in both boxed and digital form on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Steam users should now also be able to download and install the game, despite a pre-load never actually taking place.

To coincide with the launch, please see the following launch trailer, which touts review scores and a lot of slow-motion.

Feel free to discuss the game, but please keep spoilers hidden as the game has just been released and some people actually want to play this game for the singleplayer campaign. To do so, o[place your text between these characters]o.

Go Steam go! At least it's moving fairly quickly, 2MB/s. Can't wait to try this out.

Ha ha. The Steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request.

Same here, it was going at 1.8 until my download for the Blur beta finished.

I've never gotten above 400kbs with steam downloads. Or really, any downloads. What gives? Is this another Comcast sucks moment? Or are you guys paying for super connections?

You've got about a 4-5 Mbps connection if that download speed is to be believed. Is that what you are paying for? Or are you supposed to be getting more?

I just got 6Mbps AT&T DSL working at my house, and the BC2 client is currently downloading at 625Kbps. 30 minutes to go!

yep. 5 mbps connection. so how do I get from 5 mbps to 400kbps? I've never understood how those measurements work.

At a guess that's 400kBps, not 400kbps. Most speeds are sold (by your ISP) at bits per second and most download speeds are given (by your browser/download manager) in bytes per second. There are 8 bits in a byte but due to other overhead in the system it's usually a little slower thus the 400kBps.
