Sure, Alpha Protocol is all about the seductive nature of globe-trotting, super-spy action, but that doesn't mean developer Obsidian is eschewing social responsibility with its shooter-RPG.

Take, for example, this latest barrage of media. Notice anything glaring? No? That's because the characters are protecting their eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. Even on cloudy days, they're still there, you know.

What other values will be tucked away within Obsidian's latest? We'll find out June 1, when the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release arrives at North American shops.

That has me the most excited I've been for this game. The graphics aren't the greatest but the writing sounds smart, and if they can provide meaningful choices through gameplay (not dialog options) it could be a memorable experience.

I'm still waiting (what has it been, 10 years?) for the next Deus Ex.

Invisible War came out in 04.

I think he was referring to a game with excellent writing, multiple paths and endings, and an immersive world that makes you feel like you have effect on it. Soo... not Invisible War.

I considered Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines to be "the next Deus Ex," but maybe I'm alone on that one.

In any case, I'm also hoping for multiple choices and gameplay options that can alter the story. Like completing missions by combat giving a different outcome than completing with flawless stealth.

I agree with Dr_Tran on Vampire: Bloodlines.

Keep waiting. Obsidian doesn't hail from Origins/Looking Glass pedigree.

I'm looking forward to this but as its own game. I want another true DX myself but I know a diff. game when I see one.
