TacticalGamer servers were amongst the few servers that actually played BF2 like it was supposed to be played. Commanders communicated orders to the squad leaders who communicate that order with their squadmates. It wasn't just simply go there, the squad leaders actually had specific details to go along with the general orders from the commanders. Pilots actually conducted support for the squads on the ground.

The skirmishes that would erupt from being in a squad and given an order from the commander to defend a base while an opposing squad tries to take it back is amazing.

Oh, and the fact that they forced you into squads and the command hierarchy was another thing I loved about their servers. If you were a total jackass, you usually didn't last long.

TacticalGamer still runs a BF2 server that mostly stays full. It runs the Project Reality mod.
