More Mass Effect 2 DLC Coming Late March

I loved the Mako stuff in the PC version, although it did handle like ass on 360. The planet scanning is cool in 2 but I do long to traverse haunting planetary landscapes :(

And I still can't have sex with Krogans.

Planet scanning is one of the worst ideas to ever be implemented in gaming imo. The first game's planet terrain and Mako needed reworked for sure, but not removed.

I am looking forward to this DLC and hoping it returns some of ME1's planet exploration.

Sadly, the DLC thing backfires with me like it does with others here who've mentioned the same. When I buy a game, I tend to finish it. When I've done, I move on to other games. If a full-fledged expansion pack comes out for a game that I've really enjoyed, I tend to buy it because I think of it as a sequel, and a whole different story. But when some some small DLC comes out, I think of it as part of the same game I already finished. It's not enough to bring me back, and I end up resenting that it wasn't part of the game in the first place, or they didn't spend their time making a bigger, more compelling experience in the form of a proper expansion. Illogical, maybe. But it's the way I think of it.

It'd be the same if I read a really good book. I'd be excited to read a sequel. But if an author said "hey, if you liked that book i wrote, send me a few bucks and I'll send you some chapters that you can add in there!", I'd think he was a dick for not putting them in there to begin with, or not saving them to put in a whole new book.

So yeah. Let me know when ME3 get here.

Is it only me that is sick of DLC? Games companies, give me the game, let me play through it, but stop the incessant harping on about what DLC additions you have for it. It is superfluous to requirements. I don't want to constantly add to a game that should be complete out of the door. I don't want to feel that the game is incomplete.

The whole concept of DLC is a detriment to gaming because of these factors, and purely a way to flog money out of your customers. Whichever marketing bod first dreamed up the concept should be shot.

This 'add on' sounds super tacked on. 5 missions? What do you want to bet they all feature mediocre vehicle combat?

i LOVED the mako bitches. hated seeing them parked everywhere planet side in the current game, wanted to makojack them all and go on a rampage. can't wait to blast some shit with the new version.

i will make an exception for this mako2/missions thing since i love the original, but after that the game will get uninstalled, until the final goty edition comes out and i can play everything at once again.

same for dragon age.

Hey, Bioware, what about Kasumi? Hammerhead is cool and all, but I'm not playing Mass Effect 2 a third time until all the characters are out.

Looks like something that should have been in game to begin with but they ran out of time. Better late than never I guess.

The only bad thing about releasing DLC this late is I won't see it until I get the itch to make another run through in a year or so. It will be more varied sure, but I wish it was all there in my virgin play through.

Any word on whether they'll have a toolset for moding like in Dragon Age? I suppose not since it would be a weird variant of UDK but it would be cool.

I much prefer this DLC model.

Buy new, get all the DLC for free.
