Borderlands PC Patch 1.30 Released

By Chris Faylor, Feb 25, 2010 9:59am PST As promised, Gearbox has released a new patch for Borderlands PC that brings its looter-shooter up to version 1.30.

Those with a physical retail copy of Borderlands PC can snag the 193MB patch from FileShack in two flavors--Worldwide or German--while those that purchased the game from a digital distributor like Steam or D2D will need to wait for a vendor-specific update.

The patch accompanies today's release of the third downloadable add-on, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Like the patch, those with a physical retail version of Borderlands PC can acquire the $10 add-on direct from Gearbox, while those that got the game through a digital outlet will need to buy it from their specific vendor.

]That's correct; the activation limit is not present in the Steam version of General Knoxx. I do not know if we will be able to apply this to the previous DLCs, but Knoxx does not contain it on Steam. There was a large amount of response to this, and we took steps to address the concern :)

I think it is definitely worth noting that Gearbox has confirmed that the General Knoxx DLC does not have activation limits when purchased on Steam. This game is flawed on the PC in many ways, but not badly enough to prevent me from logging just a hair over 60 hours of gametime.

I said it weeks ago and I will follow through with it, I'm buying this DLC today, and in the future I will buy the previous ones if they remove activation limits from Steam purchased copies.
