Evening Reading: Game Of The Evening!

by Brian Leahy, Feb 23, 2010 5:00pm PST

After reaching out to the community for suggestions of what to bring back to ER, I was reminded of Console Game of the Evening during the era of Jason Bergman and Late Night Consoling by shacker RevRaven. I thought this was a capital idea of the highest quality, though I will be extending it to all games, not just consoles. I'll be taking submissions during each day's Morning Discussion so keep an eye out for my post.

If the nightly game sparks some inspiration, positive or negative, be sure to chat about it in the comments. To kick things off, here is RevRaven's Game of the Evening.

The Adventures of Willy Beamish - "Made by Sierra. Owned by Dynamix. It was a silly early 90s adventure game with cute dialogue. It was ported to the Sega CD, where I discovered it, and I'm surprised it isn't as well remembered as some of the other Sierra games of that era." (RevRaven)

I know I played that game when I was younger, but for the life of me, all I can remember is his frog, Horny.

Here are a few notable video game type stories from the day:
