Twitter, the best place to announce new games, has dropped a new gem on the masses. Joystiq spotted a tweet coming from developer Team17's Twitter account announcing a new 2D Worms title for the PC through Valve's digital distribution system, Steam.

We are pleased to announce a new edition of 2D Worms for PC! "Worms Reloaded" is coming soon via Steam. Details & features to follow...

Worms 2: Armageddon on Xbox 360

The consensus around these parts is that this is excellent news and hopes are high that this will be released soon.

I hope they don't use the console version physics. They totally messed up the friction and gravity in the XBLAH and DS versions compared to the PC versions.

yessss. Worms Armageddon is still the best version of the game so all it really needs is some better online features and a low price point. Rather than any gameplay improvements I just want everyone I know to be willing to buy it. The 360 Armageddon was good but too consoleized.
