A new co-op mission will hit buddy shooter sequel Army of Two: The 40th Day with the downloadable content pack 'Chapters of Deceit," announced today by developer EA Montreal.

Priced at $10 (800 Microsoft Points) and packing two new maps, the DLC will see Salem and Rios "stumble upon information that could lead to ending the invasion by Jonah and his 40th Day Initiative army. However, they quickly learn that everyone is out for themselves and to trust no one but their partner," says EA.

'Chapters of Deceit' is slated to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 1.

Didn't this game just release? Now they already have DLC out for $10 (gotta love consoles, PC gets free DLC for the most part :) ). That is probably going to be the shortest or worst DLC there is.

I don't even know where to start with this post.

"gotta love consoles, PC gets free DLC for the most part :) "

Funny, because I remember when most official add-on content for PC were in the form of paid expansion packs. Epic and Valve are the exceptions, not the rule.

Yeah, I know, but there are also PC gamers who legitimately believe what he said.

In the time of paid expansion packs, what did the consoles get?

What does that do with what I said? I was responding to the false belief that most PC games have free add-on content from original creators - whether or not console had such content is irrelevant.

Since when is getting new optional content a bad thing? As somebody else said.. Epic and Valve (as well as ID in the past) are really the two major companies who were rolling in enough dough to release tons of free content to keep their online communities healthy. Most companies can't afford that kind of thing. I think a lot of times when you finish a game you really like you are filled with the feeling of "I woudln't mind playing just a bit more of that game". DLC allows you to do just that without having to wait for a full new release. Developers have sometimes up to twelve weeks after the game is finished before it hits the shelves... they can fill some of that time with working patches etc.. but they can also put a team on making DLC to be released shortly after the game comes out. I don't really see how more content for a game is a bad thing... you always have the option not to buy it.

Once upon a time this statement might have been true. There was alot of free user created content that consoles just missed out on. But lately companies have tried to cash in on PC gamers just as much as consoles, and why shouldn't they since there are plenty of people who gladly pay.

You mean "why wouldn't" they, because I am sure people can name you a ton of reasons why they shouldn't.
