The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) announced the winners for the 13th annual Interactive Achievement Awards yesterday. Developer Naughty Dog's cinematic action-adventure, Uncharted 2, was the undisputed star of the show, running away with ten different awards.

The Jay Mohr-hosted event, held at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas during the DICE Summit, highlighted the most impressive achievements in game development in 2009, as decided by industry peers.

Special honorees at the event included Activision co-founder David Crane, who received the first Pioneer Award, and the Entertainment Software Associations' founder Douglas Lowenstein, who garnered a Lifetime Achievement Award. I play too many games, and it's the best game that I've played in a while.

yes, it really is that good. as long as you're into epic cinematic action adventure games and have fond memories of Indiana Jones.

^^ as I posted back when I played it. This is the best "Indiana Jones" game I've ever played (and yes, that includes Fate of Atlantis). It's an amazing experience.

it is really good, but AC2 is arguably a better game - certainly they should at least be sharing the spoils imo.

I enjoyed it a lot while playing it, but I haven't felt a huge need to replay it. I think it's definitely one of the best games of 2009, but I think that's more indicative of a relatively weak year for games (at least in terms of the games that I like) last year.

Yes, it is. It is absolutely a gaming masterpiece.

It's pretty good, but I think it's being overhyped a bit.

2009 had so many great games it's hard for me to pick a clear cut best game. For me it was AC2, Uncharted 2 and Batman: AA all neck & neck. It's a blast playing it, you won't regret getting it.

I still haven't played it because I don't want everything I play afterwards on PS3 to be a let down, lol. :)
