Assassin's Creed 2 DLC #2 Due Tomorrow

10
The second add-on for Assassin's Creed II will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 18--that's tomorrow--maker Ubisoft has confirmed via Twitter.

As with the first bit of downloadable content (January's "Battle of Forli"), the download restores a lost portion of Ezio's memory, allowing players to access a couple chapters of new single-player action. This time around, it's "Bonfire of the Vanities," with Ezio gaining a new ability--the so-called "spring jump"--across the book-burning adventure.

The Bonfire add-on will be sold in two varieties--by its lonesome at 320 Microsoft Points / $4, or bundled with three "Templar Secret Locations" (Palazzo Medici, Santa Maria dei Frari, Arsenal Shipyard) that come in the Black Edition of AC2 at 520 MSP / $6.50.

As for Assassin's Creed 2 PC, it'll include the two main downloadable add-ons when it hits on March 16, with an all-new Assassin's Creed game due out later this year.

the two that came in the north american CE (palazzo medici and santa maria dei frari) were kind of fun, they're sort of like the assassin tombs, self contained jumpy fighty maps, but you get money at the end instead of armor bits

That sucks. Anyone who's completed the game has tens of thousands of Florins that can't be spent. By the time I spend 1000 Florins on health or anything else, my villa has generated another 18,000.

Man, I've got all the money I need and I haven't even finished fixing up the villa. It's a little unbalanced for sure. Once you open it, run around and collect the statues, BAM, 8k right off the bat, drop it into the town, play a memory, collect XX money, dump it into the town, do that twice and you are done.

Or just leave Ezio in the villa next to his sister without pausing the game. Wait twenty minutes, collect your money, repeat.

I thought about that, but I don't care enough to do so, and I think "gaming the system" like that would water down the game for me. I want the money to be more significant rather than less.

Once it became clear the money system was a joke and open to such exploitation, I cared a lot less.
