Released in Japan circa February 2009, the PlayStation 3 exclusive hits North America and Europe in March 2010--roughly the same time that Japan gets Yakuza 4.

Exec 1: I have an idea for an awesome game that I don't want anybody to play.
    Exec 2: Make it a ps3 exclusive.
    Execs 1 & 2: Brilliant!

This game indeed is a big hit in Japan. I think million sales on day 1 alone. If nobody wants to play in the US, doesnt mean nobody wants to play the game elsewhere. I'm quite sure the game is out here because of it has a cult status here, with me being one of the fanboy.

I personally cant wait for this game (preordered already) and I played the Japanese version already. This game definitely is on my list above FF13 and even GoW3 :)

And... release it on the same day as Final Fantasy XIII.
