But seriously, is there any reason for this other than "we can"?

Also, if Windows Live, and the other online products (Bing, Messenger, etc.), were of more consequence I could see how they would also dovetail into this model of unification.
It's a lot of individual strings to pull together to form one solid chain. It's actually encouraging to see MS get this far.
Having said all that... having Xbox Live on my phone tying into my account etc.. is kind of cool. Just not enough to jump ship from Android.

The touch screen was unresponsive. Pinch zoom, only took the demo guy like 3 tries to get it to work.
The UI animation was really excessive, and over used.
IE on the phone, the video I was watching the demo guy had to load it twice before it actually started.
And the guy was like look we have the NY Times, after 30 seconds load time.
IE is slow and horrible on any platform, much less a phone.
I guess if your an Apple hater then this is pretty awesome, but to me it looks pretty horrible atm.

$2 and it does everything, even XBL messaging. You can also view Gamercards in Cover Flow if you want, etc etc. Its neat but a bit gimmicky IMO, not really sure how much of a plus it is but I guess its cool that its built into Win7 phones.
Does something like this exist for Android?

I don't play games on my phone, though Doom Resurrection was fun (especially playing it while John Carmack mentioned it at his QuakeCon 09 keynote speech).
