As promised, the long-awaited iPhone and iPod touch rendition of PopCap's lawn defense force sensation Plants vs. Zombies is now available through iTunes.

This is the way the world ends.

Sporting an impulse-friendly $2.99 price point, the mobile version includes the same fifty levels, twenty-six zombie types, and forty-nine perennial varieties as the PC version, of which we have a free thirty-minute sample available over on FileShack.

And let's not forget, this is only the beginning, as the company behind Peggle and Bejeweled is bringing the chlorophyllic zombie apocalypse to Xbox 360 this year.

I'm up to about 3-5 already. Works really well on the platform! Still has all the fun, but does occasionally bog down when there is a massive number of sprites on screen.

Really good port!

Also, the achievements are more interesting in this one than in the PC version. I wish they'd patch them in PC side.

Scroll the achievement menu, too for some lols.
