Aliens vs. Predator 'Ultimate Multiplayer Trailer' Accompanies Updated PlayStation 3 Demo
An updated demo for Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator is now available for download via the PlayStation network, fixing the matchmaking issues that plagued the initial demo releases on PC and PS3.
As with the PC demo, the old version of the PS3 demo has been replaced by a properly working version. A new multiplayer trailer has been released as well.
There are two ways to tell if you're still running the older version of the demo. The updated version of the demo includes options on the main menu screen to create and browse games. If these options aren't visible, you're using the outdated version. Additionally, outdated demos will also display an "Incompatible Version" error message if a player tries to create or accept a game invite with another player who is using the updated version. (See image below.)
Aliens vs. Predator is due out for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on February 16 in the US, with the European release following on February 19. Check out our earlier report for more information about the game's multiplayer modes.

I've lost count of how many times I've tried to play the demo and never ever got put into a game. I'm not sure if its a lack of players or some kind of networking issue...

I too, saw this problem, on my pc. However, for every session that resulted in failure, I did manage to get solid games in. All I can say is, wow.
I loved the first two, and how smooth the controls (albeit some getting used to) controls of what it felt like skittering around on the walls and the ceiling. This one is no different. I am excited to pick this bad boy up and play on my i7 with my Radeon dx11 rig. -
Yeah, thought the demo was pretty fail. In fact it only made people, previously interested in the game, cancel their orders.
1. The matchmaking was beyond horrible.
2. Who's bright idea was it to choose deathmatch for the demo? It only proved how unbalanced the game was, not that that is necessarily a bad thing. But species deathmatch would have been a much more intelligent choice. Anyone that has played the previous games know that the colonial marines a next to useless unless they group.
Anyway, was gonna preorder, now I'll probably wait until it goes on sale to buy. The demo was a piss poor idea.
