Final Fantasy 13 Media Explosion Brings Screenshots, Special Video Message and Launch Event Details
by Chris Faylor, Feb 12, 2010 12:30pm PST[Update] Square Enix has confirmed that "altered screens" of Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 were "mistakenly" included in this batch, explaining "this was obviously not intentional" as "we don't feel there is a need to enhance [FF13 on Xbox 360]." [/Update]
Continuing to dole out fresh glimpses of upcoming games, The Media Train&trade has now stopped at the Final Fantasy XIII station, unloading a wealth of new screenshots from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Square Enix's anticipated role-playing game.
With every second bringing us one step closer to the game's March 9 release in North America and Europe, things are beginning to ramp up--Final Fantasy XIII was recently named "the presenting partner of the 2010 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game" and Microsoft just revealed a limited edition Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 hardware bundle.
Furthermore, Square Enix has revealed plans to celebrate the launch with two events in San Francisco--one "a fan-focused, daytime event which will take place across two sessions of two hours each," the other an invite-only affair with celebrity guests. More details, including a chance to attend that fancy party, are on the game's official site.
Accompanying today's barrage of media was a video message from singer Leona Lewis, whose soulful tune "My Hands" serves as the game's English theme song. Watch as she enthusiastically plays Final Fantasy XIII for a bit and then talks about it some.
