Dead Rising 2 Gets Late August Release Date, Exclusive Prologue DLC Coming to Xbox 360

Capcom and Blue Castle Games' killer zombie sequel Dead Rising 2 will launch in North America on August 31, it was revealed today as part of Microsoft's X10 festivities.

Japan gets the sequel on September 2 followed by Europe on September 3. All three versions of the game--PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--are due simultaneously.

In addition, the Xbox 360 will get an "downloadable prologue" dubbed "Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO" that's due to arrive "shortly before the title releases in August." The "exclusive Game Add-on" is said to "allow Xbox 360 gamers to get their first glimpse into the Dead Rising 2 story with exclusive content that will not be featured in the full game."

Explained Capcom: "CASE ZERO will introduce main protagonist and former motocross champion Chuck Greene and provide a link between the original game and the events that await players in the gambling paradise of Fortune City."

I saw that yesterday or the day before yesterday on some online gamestore. Could be Amazon or something else, but I wasn't amused. I think they had something like mid 2010 in mind (march?)

...in what universe does March qualify as mid-year?
