Having accumulated more than two million downloads on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the recently-released multiplayer demo of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is "on pace to become the fastest downloaded demo in EA history," the company announced today.

More specifically, the demo of the latest from EA DICE is "in the hands of almost 2 1/2 million gamers," according to senior producer Patrick Bach. And to help those millions learn to play better, a "demo tutorial trailer" accompanied the announcement:

As for the multiplayer beta currently underway on PC, "hundreds of thousands of players already signed up." Both demos and the multiplayer beta are slated to end service on February 25--less than a week before the shooter hits stores in North America (March 2) and Europe (March 4). Remember, the first batch of copies include extra "limited edition" goodies, with a certain multiplayer mode offered as a timed pre-order bonus.

I've been playing the PC beta, it's really good fun. The destructibility adds a lot to the feeling of drama and realism.
