L.A. Noire No Longer PS3 Exclusive, Hitting Xbox 360
by Alice O'Connor, Feb 05, 2010 9:00am PSTOnce a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Team Bondi's Rockstar-published thriller L.A. Noire will also be released for Xbox 360 according to information picked up by Destructoid relating to the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, which this month gives the first look at the elusive title.
Described as "an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders" set in "the classic noir period of the late 1940's" when announced in September 2006, Noire has been shrouded in mystery since the release of a cinematic trailer that October.
L.A. Noire is the first title from developer Team Bondi since being founded by Brendan McNamara--director and writer of Team Soho's sandbox crime 'em up The Getaway.
Meanwhile, Rockstar is working on a new PlayStation 3 exclusive internally at Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar North--the cold war spy thriller Agent.
Noire missed the only release window it was ever given--between November 2008 and September 2009--but hopefully we'll find out more when Game Informer hits. Here's the 2006 cinematic teaser trailer again for if you missed it the first time around.

This game appears to be much different. You're a regular cop, doing detective work and likely fightin' crime. I can't imagine they'd turn a blind eye if you start gunning down civilians or destroying property.
I could see commandeering vehicles for police work, but not much of the other activities that typically occur in an open-world setting.
So how do you create an open world game in which you play a pseudo law-abiding citizen?
Or maybe I'm reading this wrong and L.A. Noire won't be open-world at all.

If they can find it in their hearts to bring it to PC, that would be nice too, but I'm in no way expecting it.

Must suck for Sony's dating life. I mean they are always thinking they've found "the one", just to find out "the one" is still sleeping around.
(I don't really care, I've got both consoles so this isn't fanboydom. Just sarcasm. It happens on both sides...see also Fallout 3 DLC)
