Some more Shack improvement work is being done. An improved threading system is almost done, no word on karma though. Someday! ;) I might start on a comments searching option, but there are some than 170,000 comments so i may have to keep it pretty basic to keep it fast, we'll see about that.

Actually have a new IOTD for you guys this morning, check it out. There are no limitations to what I can think of that would serve as a nice "special treat". Thanks to LeftE for sending that in, it's actually from his work so if you happen to work at Citizens Communications in Plano you might wanna watch out when you're stealing food :P

  • Ok... I just spent the day at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the George Strait concert, where I worked at a concession booth (I don't like country at all, I was there for the $$). We (Alpha Sigma Phi) had 2 stands where we pretty much just sold beverages (Coke products and beer). The soft drinks ran out at about 1:00 and we never got another shipment, so 90% of the profit came from beer... we were there selling from 9:00am-8:30pm. During that period of time, our suppliers could not bring us enough beer to "feed" these people. There were, I'd say, about 3 hours total where each stand didn't have any beer to sell. We had to stop selling at 8:30 since it was going to let out at around 12 (to give them time to sober up, which really wouldn't make any difference).

Regardless of the timeframe in which we were selling it, our two stands sold between $30,000 and $40,000 worth of beer.}b I swear on my left nut I'm not exaggerating AT ALL. My stand had 20oz Miller Lite and Icehouse, $5 ea. The other stand had 24oz Budweiser and Bud Light, also $5. The only time I got to stop and sit was when we were out... and even then we had a non-stop flow of people in search of beer.

    Moral(s) of the story:
    - Never under-estimate the drinking power of a redneck
    - If you want to make money, sell over-priced beer to rednecks
