Fallout: New Vegas Teaser Trailer Arrives Alongside Release Window Reveal
by Chris Faylor, Feb 04, 2010 7:08am PSTObsidian's post-apocalyptic RPG non-sequel Fallout: New Vegas will arrive on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in "Fall 2010," publisher Bethesda confirmed today.
Though Fallout 3 was crafted internally at Bethesda, the team at Obsidian Entertainment is quite familiar with the franchise, as the independent developer was founded by veterans of now-defunct Fallout series creator Black Isle Studios.
Also revealed was a brief synopsis of the game, and the debut teaser trailer:
Fallout: New Vegas, the follow-up to Fallout 3- the 2008 Game of the Year - brings this beloved franchise to a location only Fallout could do justice: Vegas. Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, humor, and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series, and raises the stakes.

Still, I have hope that they'll be more faithful to the Fallout IP than Bethesda's dim-witted cock-up. FO3 was fun and all, but it lacked the depth and intelligence of its predecessors. I'm glad to see the creators of Fallout get another crack at it.

Regardless, I'm still looking forward to this one for numerous reasons. I love that they're returning to a Western desert setting, and Vegas was an amazing choice. I don't care if the gameplay remains the same as long as it has a compelling plot this time around and they get the atmosphere nailed down.

But they've either been hauling ass on this game for longer than we've known about it, or there's not much to it and it's going to be short.
Those are the only two ways we could possibly get it by Fall of this year.
