Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Feb 04, 2010 6:00am PSTSega has revealed that the new '2D' Sonic game codenamed 'Project Needlemouse' will in fact be Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 for Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Sega previously confirmed that the zippy blue hedgehog himself will be the star and only playable character in Sonic 4, downplaying the vast array of characters added in recent games such as gun-wielding hedgehogs and cats from alternate dimensions.
The Episode 1 subtitle indicates episodic content, though Sega associate brand manager Ken Balough told GameSpot "I think the best way to view it is as a first part in a much larger adventure" much as Sonic 3 was concluded by Sonic & Knuckles.
Boasting 3D graphics from a 2D perspective, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will be out for download on Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 this summer. Pricing is yet unknown.

GET RID OF THE FUCKING SMOKE AFTER HIM.
And make him move like he's sonic, and your good to go.

Oh and I hope he doesn't talk ever during gameplay, no videos, nothing, just action.

If we see Shining Force 4, then I'm pretty much just resigning myself to armageddon

Episode 1 = small amount of content, really short game, will cost more to buy all the episodes than one complete game.
If they thought Sonic and Knuckles was Sonic 3: Episode 2 then I'm cool with episodes but nowdays it seems like episodic content means small short offerings that add up to one disjointed overly expensive game.
That said, if sega is finally concerned with not fucking up a sonic game then maybe they can fix any complaints in the next expisode.
I would prefer HD 2D graphics, but I understand that 3D is way easier and less time consuming.

All the stupid shit, was such a movement away from the awesome that was sonic 1,2,3. Super sonic was cool as hell and tails a knuckles too.
When there was like ... 20 different characters and a gun shooting hedgehog you have to ask yourself... wtf?
