World of Warcraft Planning PC and iPhone Access to Auction House Outside the Game
by Jeff Mattas, Feb 03, 2010 4:20pm PSTAn official Blizzard poster dropped an interesting nugget of information in World of Warcraft's official forum today. He states that there's a new service being developed that will give players new ways to remotely access the MMO's Auction House. No longer will pesky things like real life get in the way of buying and selling virtual items and equipment.
When the update launches, players will be able to use World of Warcraft's in-game Auction House via enhanced versions of the Armory website and Armory App that will be accessible using the iPhone, iPod touch, or PC. Details about how the service will ultimately work are sparse, though at least some features won't be free. "It's important to note here that certain elements of the service will be premium-based," Bornakk stated, "which we'll go into more detail on once the service functionality is finalized."
The service is still very much under development, and there's no official release date to report yet, but we'll keep an eye out for more details to be revealed on the official World of Warcraft website as its release nears.

Before I canceled (and I'm sure I'll re-up my subscription some day), it struck me on a plane playing my PSP that it would be cool if Bliz developed an offline RPG for handhelds that you could sync with your WoW characters. You could game on the go and still progress your characters, though with different gameplay.
I've heard that Eve is doing a tie-in game like that. Seems a great potentially money maker. How many WoW addicts would pick up a DS or PSP just to get that extra ounce of progression?

Also, as far as account security, an authenticator is a must have if you're going to spend any time in this game. Nothing worse then getting your account hacked.

Given how old the game is, I'm amazed that the problem of bots has actually gotten worse, not better. Anyone seen the bots dancing in front of OG Ah, spelling out site names? Makes Blizz look like clowns.
Number B: Will I pay for it? Probably. :(
