SKATE 3 Trailer Goes Industrial

The first Skate that came out a few years ago [ think Jay Balmer was involved with design ] was really fun and felt very good + responsive. Loved the flick-stick controls as they made alot of sense to a former skater in how you executed kickflips an' so on. I think I spent about 20+ hours just playing the demo in anticipation of the game and the 'demo escape' glitches that people worked out due to the game streaming in scenery like fences were simply ingenious.

Flash forward to the sequel, and previews of Skate 3 and it looks like they've lost the sense of skating in a realistic environment which made Skate 1 so entertaining. Skate 2 seemed to amplify the size of everything a la THPS3 and it just suffered as a representation of skating as a result. The team crap in this new Skate 3 is really off-putting as well and just tells me that skaters aren't designing this franchise anymore. Please, please Black Box for the next one: back to street skating please -- no dumb crap ok.

It looks exactly like Skate 2 to me. Should be called Skate 2.1.

Anyway, will they still have girl characters in there?

What about longboards?

I really wanted to like this series. I just can't get into it really.
I have been a huge Tony Hawk fan back in the days of the first two games. My THPS 2 disc was litterally glued into the drive back then.
But the awkward thumbstick-acrobat controls in these games just don't seem to grow on me.
I'm sorry SKATE.

I thought those areas looked great to skate. I get lost looking for cool things to session in skate 2.

I like that awful vignetting from cheap fishieye adapters is now the "official look" of skate videos.
