Borderlands 'General Knoxx' DLC Announced

by Jeff Mattas, Jan 28, 2010 7:00pm PST

Gearbox Software and 2K Games have announced The Secret Army of General Knoxx, the third downloadable expansion for their loot-heavy shooter, Borderlands. As previously reported, Gearbox says this new content is "the biggest DLC" that they've made so far, and will expand the player level cap beyond level fifty.

Along with his secret army, General Knoxx brings new enemies, vehicles, missions, and weapons plus a huge new environment. Gearbox hasn't revealed a specific number for the promised level cap increase; however, they've promised that "players who think they've seen it all have tons more to do."

A release date and price for The Secret Army of General Knoxx have yet to be revealed, but it's been confirmed that the DLC will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

  • Seeing as they are going to make a franchise out of Borderlands, I'm happy they are trying out so many new things in DLC. It'll help make the next one better. You're already getting worth your money for the game by itself. I'm not commenting anything about the multiplayer or PC version since I'm not using either but the singleplayer was made very well with just a few screwups like every game has. Besides the drop-system stiffing you sometimes. The same shotgun twice in the same chest when there's supposed to be 17 million. If there was dual-wielding I wouldn't have been pissed by that.
