Command & Conquer 4 Public Beta Kicks Off
by Chris Faylor, Jan 28, 2010 9:20am PSTDon't want to wait until March 16 to play Command & Conquer 4 PC? No problem, as Electronic Arts is apparently on a beta kick and launching multiplayer betas of both EA LA's impending strategy game and DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC today.
The five-versus-five Command & Conquer 4 multiplayer beta is "PUBLIC and open to anyone and everyone around the world," going by the game's official site.
Keys can be obtained by registering at GameSpot, with EA LA writing that there will be "thousands of keys in the first wave" and reassuring potential players that "in the event you are placed on the waitlist, do not fear, we will be activating users daily and quickly."

Game seems trash from what I've seen/read.
Why cant we just get a classic RTS game with updated graphics!? I guess Starcraft 2 will be but I don't like aliens and other weird crap in RTS games.

Seriously, all of this "exclusive" shit is getting ridiculous. I can't keep track of what damn item is available exclusive at what store, or who's actually providing the full game (Xbox and PS3 who buy BF:BC2 from non-participating stores will receive an exclusive shaft in their rectum! \o/ ) Apparently I can't download the beta for C&C either unless I sign up to receive spam from these clowns.
People wonder why PC gaming is dying, and the publishers wonder why no one is buying their PC games. Perhaps it's because I can hardly find a title anymore without half the game content locked away as DLC, or requiring me to create yet another name and password just to play the damn thing, or some lockout period because I didn't feel like driving an extra 10 miles to buy the game from whoever's cock the publisher is sucking today. Here's a thought, why don't they put the game on a disc, and put it on a shelf in a store, and then I can like, buy it and stuff. No bullshit, I get a game and you get my money. Sound fair?
