Red Dead Pre-Order Bonus Voting Begins

3
True to their word, developer Rockstar and retailer GameStop have opened the voting to determine which bonus outfit GameStop pre-orders will get in Red Dead Redemption.

The Red Dead Referendum, as they're calling it, presents potential buyers with three outfits--Savvy Merchant, Deadly Assassin, Expert Hunter--that grant special bonuses, such as half-price guns and ammo. Whichever proves most popular will then be available for pre-ordering folk to unlock through some sort of in-game outfit challenge.

"Anyone can vote up to once a day," writes GameStop. "Ballot box stuffing is encouraged since each vote counts as an entry in a sweepstakes to win a trip to tour the old west on the historic Grand Canyon Railway or daily prizes of $100 GameStop gift cards."

Developed by Rockstar San Diego and currently at the center of allegations over poor working conditions, the open-world Western hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 27.

So and how do you get this in Europe? I am not aware that there is a gamestop where I live.

This pre-order shit is stressful, nothing more. You catch yourself thinking you need to get that money together to pre-order it because else you will miss out on something. And then you realize that you don't even know what you buy since no reviews are out.

Eh, not like it's ever anything valuable enough to pay MSRP for.

True, but I find these concepts annoying non the less.

The game looks very good though.

most likely all three will be released as downloadable content for all somewhere down the line. that's how promotions similar to this have worked in the past.
