Shack PSA: Psychonauts $2 on Steam

Digital distribution outlet Steam has unveiled this week's "Midweek Madness" sale, which puts Psychonauts PC at $2--an 80% discount.

Also released on Xbox and PlayStation 2, the 2005 super-natural action-adventure marks the latest PC title from Double Fine--an independent studio founded and led by Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango veteran Tim Schafer.

Since then, Double Fine has produced one other major release, the heavy metal action adventure Brutal Legend, which hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in October 2009.

To anyone thinking if it is worth it: It is. Buy it if you like adventures, or platformers or just nice games. Played it on the Xbox back in the day and always wanted to have it on the PC.

If you like the game a lot, consider buying something from the Double Fine shop! The distribution rights to Psychonauts are still owned by Majesco, so it's unlikely that the developers see a single penny. I think Psychonauts is worth $20 so the least I can do is buy an $18 shirt direct from the company. http://shop.doublefine.com/index.asp

This is one of the funniest games I've ever played. I've played through all the old Lucasarts games, I still even have Full Throttle installed on my PC. This is a MUST BUY for anyone who ever liked adventure/platformers.

Been sitting on Brutal Legend for quite a while now without cracking the shrinkwrap. Always wanted to try this so I have a feeling BL is going to be pushed back a bit further. Sorry Mr Schafer but you've been pre-empted by your own classic creation. I keep pushing new games further back as I fall back into stuff like Serious Sam HD. Strange.
