Dead Rising 2 Due This Year, Movie Planned
by Chris Faylor, Jan 26, 2010 9:20am PSTCapcom today narrowed down the release window of Dead Rising 2, vowing that the sequel it describes as "Zombie Paradise Action" will arrive sometime during 2010.
While vague--the company offered no additional details regarding dates or specific territories--the timeframe still comes as good news to zombie-slaying fanatics, as Capcom previously said it was due by March 31, 2011.
[UPDATE 1/31/09] Capcom has clarified that the 2010 target is worldwide. [/UPDATE]
Unlike the first Dead Rising, which was developed internally at Capcom and exclusive to Xbox 360 and followed years later by a TOSE-helmed Wii de-make, Dead Rising 2 is coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with development marking a "collaboration" between the original team and The BIGS developer Blue Castle Games.
And, hey, bonus, Capcom also passed along word of a new live-action film based off the franchise, dubbed Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun, with a wonderful trailer just below:
FileShack: Unity of Command, Skyjacker
Daily Filter: Planetside 2, Deadlight
Weekend PC digital deals: strategy-o-rama
38 Studios, Harry Potter Kinect - Shacknews Daily: May 25, 2012

I'm wondering why it doesn't use ragdolls but animation.
Euphoria would be awesome for this. I want a zombie game using euphoria with massive amounts of zombies on screen.
I have hopes for the second one, especially since it's gonna be on the PC, but I'm gonna wait to see what my fellow Shackers think rather than a blind purchase.
hmm pc, now I'm interested
