Morning Discussion
by Alice O'Connor, Jan 26, 2010 1:15am PSTToday sees the North American release of Mass Effect 2 and, more importantly, the revival of an old favourite Shacknews tradition--the launch day discussion post. So please, keep your Mass Effect 2 out of Morning Discussion because people are avoiding spoilers, or perhaps live in Europe and the thought of anyone playing ME2 before Friday fills them with a furious rage.
So. Something else, then. Read any good books lately? It's not quite a book but I've been enjoying Judge Anderson: The Psi Files Volume 1, a phonebook sized collection of stories from celebrated British sci-fi comic 2000AD starring Judge Dredd's splendid psychic chum Judge Cassandra Anderson. There's a small exhibition of frequent Anderson artist Arthur Ranson's comic art at Orbital Comics near Leicester Square in London, if you're in the area and fancy seeing some rockin' pictures.

I've been working for some time on re-designing my homepage, the hope is to showcase my work (i'm an artist) in an attractive minimal way, that isn't too confusing or distracting. I also for the first time plan to sell prints online, so i've got a little simple online store.
I wondered if you guys would do me the favor of looking over the page, clicking a few links etc and testing everything should work as it should, spot major mistakes etc, spelling mistakes and so forth. There's a couple of elements that don't work right now (for instance the link to the 'originals' section of the online store doesn't work right now but it will soon, once everything is in it's right place.) I designed the page so it was easy to expand upon and update, as my previous design was such a complicated nightmare it became completely stagnant.
My major concerns are that, firstly there are problems with other browsers i haven't come across yet (haven't had the opportunity to test it on a multitude of browsers etc) and that a lot of the text is too small to read on larger screens. I seem to have a penchant for small text, its just what i prefer, but if its totally unreadable at higher res' then i'll change it. Also just so you know, the page should load centered on the screen, i came across a few instances previously where it aligned to the left, so if this happens pls let me know. So anyway, rip it to pieces, tell me what you think. Also try not to laugh too much at the pretentious descriptions of my artwork, that is i'm afraid, the way the art world works.
Thanks
