Classic Adventure Game 'Broken Sword' Hits iPhone

Revolution Software's classic PC adventure game Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is now in the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch, priced at $6.99.

The release is based on the 'Director's Cut' release for Wii and DS last year, which packs extra content--making the game 20% longer, Revolution says--and features new artwork and animations by Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons as well as a hint system.

Broken Sword uses an "an improved version" of the controls from Revolution's iPhone revamp of its dystopian adventure Beneath a Steel Sky, which came out last October.

It seems like that promise of the I-phone as a platform for games is really coming to fruition lately. It seems like I'm hearing more and more about "real" games coming to i-phone/i-pod touch instead of just 1,000 more single screen puzzle games.

Now we just need to see more games like this on Android.. because I'm not touching an I-phone with a 10 foot pole. :)

I wish they'd make a movie franchise out of this game.

Far more interesting than The Da Vinci Code and it'd be far better than any future Indiana Jones movies.

it's kind of weird how this game's been ported to like a dozen platforms (GBA being the weirdest one). I admit I'm not real up on adventure games, but I've never really heard anyone say I should play this game even though it's been out since like1996.
