EA Confirms 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11' for June, Launches 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online' Beta
by Chris Faylor, Jan 21, 2010 11:10am PSTHaving previously vowed to "continue with Tiger on the masthead of [PGA Tour Online]" despite the well-publicized marital indiscretions that have lead to numerous dropped sponsors, EA Sports today confirmed that the next proper entry in its annual PGA Tour series, due out on in June 2010, will likewise retain the Tiger Woods branding.
But while PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and iPhone owners will be forced to wait roughly five more months until they can play Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, an open beta of the web-based Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online is now available on PC and Mac.
"By his own admission, he's made some mistakes off the course," EA Sports president Peter Moore has explained of the company's loyalty to Woods. "But regardless of what's happening in his personal life, and regardless of his decision to take a personal leave from the sport, Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history."
