MLB 2K10 'Pitchers vs. Hitters' Trailers Talk Smack
by Jeff Mattas, Jan 20, 2010 6:00pm PSTPublisher 2K Sports has loaded the bases with a trio of trailers for developer Visual Concepts' upcoming baseball game, MLB 2K10. These highlights pit some high-profile pitchers against the game's biggest hitters.
Representing the pitchers' side are players like Oakland A's closer and 2009 Rookie of the Year, Andrew Bailey, as well as others like Detroit Tigers' starter Justin Verlander, and Seattle Mariners' Felix Hernandez. First basemen Kendry Morales of the Los Angeles Angels and Justin Morneau of the Minnesota Twins join Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria and Rangers' right fielder Nelson Cruise to make the case from the batter's box.
Only one of the trailers shows off some in-game footage but viewing all three in succession is sort of like watching West Side Story...minus the doomed lovers and musical numbers.
MLB 2K10 is coming to PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP on March 2nd.

But the reason I think this year I might go with 2k10 over the Show is that Visual Concepts (makers of NBA 2k) took over MLB 2k9 in the middle of the development cycle and now has finally had a chance to have a full development period to work on the game. Also the Show has been complacent the last three years pumping out the same product with minor fixes and just improving RTTS which I don't even like.
2k9 had a sick franchise mode and 2k10 I assume will build from it so that will be the selling point for me.

Otherwise, Sony's MLB series knocks the dick off the 2K sports stuff. Graphics, gameplay, features, everything else.
