As Tecmo prepares to unleash Quantum Theory on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the publisher-developer has issued forth some new media from the project it freely admits as being "the company's first attempt at the third-person shooter genre."

It's got single-player with a computer-controlled companion. It's got eight-person multiplayer. It's got a strong Gears of War vibe. And it's coming your way. March 2010.

They have literally ripped off the animations frame-for-frame from Gears of War. The rolls, aiming down the sight, jumping over objects, blind firing, and running are EXACT copies. Has no one else picked up on this? I see a law suit in the future if this is released outside of Japan.

This game is biting gears of war bigtime, but I guess if they were aiming for something totally original it wouldnt look anything like gears.

Strong Gears of War vibe'?? More like Gears of War with Itagaki's art director. They couldn't even be bothered to remove the hint system at the bottom of the screen. Well, at least you can throw a woman at enemies, apparently...

Gears of War came out only three years ago and this type of gameplay already looks dated. It doesn't help that the graphics and AI look weak. I also don't understand why you shoot the little guys and use your fists on the big guys.
