Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Pre-Orders Get Bonus Figurines

By Chris Faylor, Jan 19, 2010 1:10pm PST What's that? The Pokewalker pedometer bundled with every copy of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver isn't enough? You want more?

Lucky for you, Nintendo just announced that those who pre-order either version from "participating retailers nationwide" will receive a figurine "while supplies last."

Pokemon HeartGold pre-orders will get a figure of the rainbow-winged "Legendary Pokemon" Ho-Oh (above, left) while SoulSilver pre-orders net Lugia (above, right).

Of course, pre-ordering also means that you'll be able to pick up the Nintendo DS revamps of Pokemon Gold and Silver when they hit on March 14. And though it previously seemed that the Pokewalker wouldn't affect pricing, it appears that has changed, as Nintendo now lists each game at $39.99--a $5 premium over its usual prices.

  • I loved the pokemon games, but, really, they are ALL remakes, same basic storyline, gameplay mechanics, gyms/ Elite 4, etc. Even the pokemon are repeated, right down to the type of animal copied, ooh, I can get a normal-flying type bird pokemon that has 3 evolutions, but is actually only an OK pokemon...IN EVERY GAME.
Look at Zelda, and how well it grew and evolved over the years, Zelda Spirt Tracks is brilliant, Pokemon whatever are so similar, it's rediculous (right down ot thee 4th(?) gym being empty, and having to come back and do it again later...in every version!)
