Just Cause 2 Trailer: Choose Your Own Adventure

By Chris Faylor, Jan 15, 2010 2:40pm PST Combining the magic of branching video and streaming technology, this "multi-path" Just Cause 2 trailer is meant to highlight the various options and approaches available in the action game, including air strikes, guns blazing, stealth, and, yes, the scenic route.

Sure, whatever option you choose is likely to open in a new window, but as it's not hitting PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 until March 26, it's the closest you're going to get for a while.

  • There should be a rule that all open world sandbox games are required to ship with online coop. It just seems criminal not to. Hell, I think most games would be better if they shipped with coop for the main campaign. Preferably up to 4 players.

Playing Saints Row 2 and Mercenaries 2 on the PC with a friend made for some utterly hilarious times. The bugginess of both games made it even better in ways that would have been detrimental when playing it alone. You can tolerate unfair deaths a lot more when a buddy is there to revive you.

I've been playing Red Faction: Guerilla recently. I've only gotten up to Oasis sector and I'm finding it difficult to continue. It's a bit frustrating since the game seems to run much faster for me than the gameplay videos I've seen. Combined with the AI spawning in large groups and Alec Mason being stupidly vulnerable to gunfire, it's hard to choke down. I probably would tolerate those aspects of the game a lot more if there was coop in the main campaign, just so someone else could suffer along with me.
