18 Wheels of Steel developer SCS Software has brought all the thrills, chills and spills of hauling freight auf der Autobahn to PC with a demo for its hard truckin' sim German Truck Simulator, a 350MB load awaiting collection at FileShack.

The demo gives one hour to play the full game, with trucks from seven manufacturers, sixty types of load and eighteen major German cities connected by picturesque countryside.

So slip on your mesh cap, fire up Kraftwerk, crack open a cold one and truck the hour away, then if it tickles your fancy you can become a full-fledged knight of the road by paying €30 (roughly $43 US) to unlock the demo into the full version. Keep on truckin'!
