Game Creator Kodu Comes to PC

2
Microsoft has released a free PC "technical preview" of Kodu, its visual programming language aimed primarily at children, available in a 153MB download from FileShack.

Endorsed by an "actual 12-year-old girl," Kodu offers simple visual tools for game mechanics and level design, complete with tutorials and samples.

The PC version of Kodu is improved over the current build of the downloadable Xbox 360 original released last July for $5, boasting nested logic, improved 'move' verb options and straightforward exporting as well as, naturally, keyboard and mouse support.

Should you scoff and turn your nose up at Kodu, perhaps you're ready for the big kids' toys--the free standalone Unreal Engine 3 Unreal Development Kit or Unity Indie.

About time. I played the trial on XBL.

I wish the visuals were a bit more advanced though so you could make a proper RPG or something.
