Gran Turismo 5 Delayed in Japan

Polyphony Digital's driving simulator Gran Turismo 5 won't make its planned March 2010 release in Japan, publisher Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed today.

The terse announcement did not include a new release window, but did offer an apology for the inconvenience. A playable "Time Trial" sample of the PlayStation 3 exclusive can be downloaded from the online PlayStation Store until January 25.

As for North America and Europe, Sony told CVG that the delay only applies to Japan, though that means little considering the most we have go on is word that, circa December 2009, Sony was targeting a summer 2010 release for North America.

I've only seen friends play this series but I know the dev cycle for a new iteration in the franchise always seems to be a legendary wait. What are they doing with all that time? Is this from a studio that constantly throws out or rewrites their work?

The cockpit/dashboard screen looks good....

I'm not a big fan of Gran Turismo.. Or most racing games in general... Except for the need for speed and some other stuff.. But I really like those dashboard stuff (just like in NFS:Shift).. I hope this trend continues..

I hate to say it I was disappointed by the demo :( it was not good at all, whats the diff from Prologue other than the physics engine which I could not tell?

Go buy Dirt2, NFS Shift on PC or Forza 3 on 360 or Dirt2, NFS Shift for PS3 instead until there is better hope (from the demo impressions)... please end up being awesome.
