LEGO Universe developer NetDevil has released new screenshots and a splendid cinematic trailer for the PC block-building MMO, having shown it off during CES 2010 last week.

The MMO features family-friendly minifig combat features as well as various ways to build items, ranging from the simple automated construction seen in Traveller's Tales LEGO series to brick-by-brick free-form building.

LEGO Universe is currently slated for release on PC "later this year."

Crud, I was excited after that trailer. I understand they need to have low system requirements, but there are other kiddie MMOs like WoW, Wizard 101, and Freerealms that run on any machine and look a lot better than that.

Yeah, I'm not sure I've ever seen a bigger gap between the quality of the trailer and actual in-game shots before.
