              All that was really revealed about what happened was that it caused huge fires to break out, seemingly randomly. Really, I think that's all the characters knew, which in turn is all we as the viewers learn about the disaster.
              
              How do you think these people would find out for sure what actually happened? It's not like they can tune into the news, or check Druge to see what's up.
