Metro 2033 Story Trailer: Humanity Is Obsolete

Providing another glimpse of the perils that await the underground residents of post-apocalyptic Moscow, publisher THQ has issued a new trailer from 4A's survival shooter Metro 2033. "You've heard about survival of the fittest. Guess what? We lost."

Oh sure, you've got mutants and the like, but thus far, it looks like the real danger comes not from some overgrown five-armed blob named Joe, but fellow humans. Go figure.

Then again, Metro 2033 doesn't hit PC and Xbox 360 for a bit yet, so, uh, maybe there's still a chance that everyone will learn to play nicely before its "early 2010" arrival?

I noticed that the guards from the video refer to the (I assume) protaganist as a "red spy" and wonder if they should call the "Gestapo". Are they setting up some sort of futuristic Russia vs. Germany thing I wonder?

I just hope the ex-GSC guys can make this game a better sequel to Stalker than Stalker: Clear Sky. It would be awesome if they added a Russian only dialogue a la Stalker in game so it would be more immersive.

Finally looks like we will be getting a proper FPS game to play on the computer in quite some time. There hasn't been anything new on over 2 years. Modern Warfare 2 finished before I realised I even started playing it, and there want any real "story" in it. Just load level go from point A to point B, watch over hyped in-between level load video, rinse and repeat. Was pretty shit, you got to admit that, sort of like playing the original Doom, just go from point A to B and survive. Then watch some shitty voice-over flashy videos in-between.
