Red Dead Redemption Screenshots Saddle Up

New Red Dead Redemption screenshots from developer Rockstar San Diego show everything one would hope for in an open-world western video game--harsh landscapes, dramatic showdowns, explosions and a lady dressed like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Red Dead Redemption is slated to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 27. Until then, screenshots are all good and well but you can't beat a good bit of gameplay footage.

so is this game going to have the same fuzzy controls that gta had? i enjoyed the idea behind the open world gta games but absolutely hated all of the actual handling of the controls from running/turning/aiming to driving.

I'm stoked beyond measurement for this one. I think the first was one of the best titles that Rockstar had anything to do with and I'm glad to see them returning to the franchise.

God I can't wait for this game. I haven't played the first, but the thought of a GTA-esque western is incredibly intriguing. The gameplay vid sold me.

I'm typically optimistic about games, but I've seen so stellar looking works in progress amount to garbage, which is why won't buy a game until I've read reviews. With that said... I think I might line up with all the nerds and buy this one at midnight. I want this game in my hands ASAP. April is too far away. I'm contemplating pulling a Cartman and freezing myself so I can be unfrozen when it finally is released.
