Ever the quick-witted villain, the nefarious General Neutronov declares "Goodbye, Matt Hazard. For NEVER!" as he kidnaps Matt Hazard's past pixelated self in an attempt to pre-empt the satirical series.

Of course, as the second Matt Hazard is due on Xbox 360 tomorrow and PlayStation 3 come Thursday in the form of downloadable side-scrolling shooter Blood Bath and Beyond ($15), it seems Neutronov's plan doesn't (didn't?) work out all that well.

The upshot, though, is that Neutronov's inevitable defeat brings not only screens, but a trailer filled with fallen game icons plus nods to BioShock, Team Fortress 2 and more.

I was wondering that too. I was leaning towards the idea that they just copied Shadow Complex as much as possible because of how well SC did.

Of course, that would be a good thing. SC was my first XBL purchase and I loved it.
