Star Trek Online Trailer: Exploration Explosion
by Chris Faylor, Jan 05, 2010 11:00am PSTBy this point, I think Atari and Cryptic have firmly established that Star Trek Online has explosions. That's (presumably) why this montage includes footage of exploration--both-in-space and on-foot--and some explosions. You know, in case you forgot.
Launching February 2, the sci-fi PC MMO includes vocal contributions from old Spock himself (Leonard Nimoy) and young Spock (Zachary Quinto as "Emergency Medical Hologram"), with an open beta running January 12 through January 26.

After Shitty cryptic took over they showed a hideus version of their game using some models and textures pasted over the city of heroes engine...The game uses that engine that was made in 2001 for the 2003 game city of heroes..It is a dx7 engine that cannot handle smooth transitions from level to level like EVERY OTHER SPACE SIM ENGINE CAN............The engine and games on the coh engine are instance based so that means that every few minutes there is loading of a seperate space part place.....
Also their craptastic engine cannot handle moving characters withing vechicles so there are no interiors in the ships while playing.............
ALSO THE SPACE IS 2D AND NOT 3D.........AND THE SPACE BATTLES ARE WITH COOLTIMES LIKE JPRG'S
THIS GAME IS AN ABOMINATION TO EVERY STAR TREK FAN AND GAME OUT THERE

I think I'll stick around and play my same old six year old MMO or wait around for the new Star Wars MMO. Because the first one worked out so well! Also, Bioware has great experience with MMOs. There has never been a bad Star Wars game, unlike Star Trek (Remember those awful game like Bridge Commander and Elite Force? Ugh.)
Naw, I'll just keep trolling around, talking about things I don't know about, rating stupid ILTC posts.
