Hazardous Software is now accepting pre-orders for its time travel-based PC real-time strategy Achron at $29.95 and offering tempting bonuses, Big Download noticed.

While Achron is not scheduled for release until January 1, 2011, pre-orderers will receive early goodies over the coming year including an alpha singleplayer demo straight away, a multiplayer release in February and level editor in April, as detailed on the schedule.

Think of it as travelling back in time to an earlier version of the game, if you will. To see how the time travel mechanics work, have a gander at this recent alpha demonstration.

I read the title and thought this was about that old awesome Chess game I loved to play.

That is it. I forgot the actual spelling. Good memories.

I, too misread it and was ecstatic for a moment. Archon 2 was cool too, but I disliked the reliance on guided attacks in that one. The Elemental Strengths weren't nearly as cool as the Light/Dark paradigm.
I'd send a unicorn or basilisk up against anything; but not on the opposite color square.
I even had Forgotten Legions. It didn't work on my sound card, and I knew it when I bought it. I *still* bought it. I then replaced my Mediavision with a sound blaster for this game. Note that I bought the game first.
