Morning Discussion

By Alice O'Connor, Jan 05, 2010 5:00am PST They have called Howard Hughes crazy for building the mahoosive birch Spruce Goose but here we are in 2010 getting hot under the collar for the ginormous Airbus A380. This prompts the question: who's really mad in this picture?

The answer follows: Howard Hughes he would most likely still be a wee bit barmy were he alive today, Airbus is far too large a company to make arguably libellous claims against, and assessing the mental health of the abstract Them is awfully difficult but Some say They're reactionary, foolish and "kind of mental."

Good evening, Shack. I have an extremely annoying tech problem. I have an ATI Radeon 4870 1GB Video Card. So far, it has run everything I have needed it to run at max settings.

Recently, since shortly after my move back to Cali, it seems to have an issue in Fallout 3 in which when using VATS very often the AA and AF completely cuts out. The game doesn't freeze or CTD, the AA and AF just stops working. The game runs very smooth, not really any stuttering or slow FPS or anything... everything is running perfect, and looking beautiful and then BAM I hit VATS and the AA and AF turns off.

Anyone experienced anything like this? Is it do to overclocking, even if the heat is keeping around 50 to 60 C? This is extremely annoying, I either have to Alt-Tab out and back in, or restart the game. I am sure I am not the only one to have experienced this, but I cannot find anything about this issue recently, so there has to be a fix.

I am running Catalyst 9.12 on Win XP Pro, DirectX 9.0c... any thoughts?
